Booking Terms

These terms are written to be read, like everything else on this site. They cover what happens when you book, when you pay, and what happens if either of us has to cancel.

1. The agreement

When you book a place on a SoulSearching retreat and pay the deposit, a contract is formed between you and Healing Arts E.I.R.L. on these terms. Booking is only open to adults aged 18 or over.

2. Price, booking and deposit

The retreat price is US$3,500 per person for the five days, excluding accommodation (section 6). A place is reserved when we confirm your booking in writing and receive a deposit of US$1,000. Until then, requesting an invitation or corresponding with us commits you to nothing.

3. Paying the balance

The remaining balance is due [BALANCE-DUE-DAYS] days before the retreat begins. Payments are processed by Payoneer. If the balance is not received by the due date and we have not agreed otherwise with you, we may release your place and the cancellation terms below apply.

4. If you cancel

The cancellation policy is deliberately simple, and deliberately generous:

• Up until midday on the second day of the retreat, you can cancel and receive a full refund of everything you have paid us for retreat admission — the deposit included. That window covers the entire booking period, your travel, your arrival, and the first day and a half in the valley.
• After midday on day two, no refund — by then the week is underway and your place could not have gone to anyone else.

Flights and accommodation are not ours to refund: you book both separately (section 6), and their refund terms are set by whoever you book them with. This is one reason we advise travel insurance (section 8).

Instead of cancelling, you may transfer your booking to the next available retreat date once, free of charge. Refunds are returned by the method you paid with, within 14 days of the cancellation being confirmed.

5. If we cancel

Retreats run with a group of eight to fifteen people. If we cancel a retreat for any reason — including not reaching the minimum group size — you receive a full refund of everything you have paid, including the deposit, within 14 days. We are not liable for costs you incurred separately, such as flights — which is one reason we ask you to take out travel insurance (section 8).

6. What is included, and what is not

Included: meals at the retreat venue during the five days, and every session and activity described in the programme we send you.

Not included: accommodation — the retreat price excludes it; we send you a short list of nearby options at a range of prices and you book directly — plus flights, airport transfers unless stated in your programme, travel insurance, visas, and personal expenses.

7. Health, fitness and suitability

The retreat is not medical care, psychotherapy, or a substitute for either. It is a structured week of guided self-work, conversation, rest and planning, led as described on the main page.

The Sacred Valley sits at roughly 2,800 metres. You must tell us before booking about any physical or mental health condition, medication, or dietary need that could affect your safety at that altitude or your participation. We treat that information as described in our privacy policy: used only for your safety, deleted after the retreat.

If we conclude, before or during the retreat, that participation is not safe for you or for the group, we may decline or end your participation. If that happens before the retreat begins, you receive a full refund including the deposit.

8. Travel documents and insurance

Your passport, visas and travel arrangements are your responsibility. We strongly advise travel insurance that covers cancellation, medical treatment abroad, and repatriation.

9. Events outside anyone's control

If the retreat cannot run because of events outside our reasonable control — natural disaster, epidemic, civil unrest, government travel restrictions and the like — we will offer you a transfer to a future date first, and where that is not possible, a refund of what you have paid minus costs we cannot recover. We will always show you the arithmetic.

10. Liability

Our total liability to you in connection with a retreat is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Peru. Nothing in this section takes away protections you are entitled to under the consumer law of the country you live in.
